Why I Am Starting a Blog
We all have our own story to tell. Our own experiences, our own thoughts, and our own voice. There are many reasons for writing a blog, but for me, I want it to be a way to collect and share those thoughts, write them down and express myself through them.
All of us share photos and selfies on Instagram and Snapchat and while it is said a picture is worth a thousand words, aren't we actually much more than just pictures? There is a lot we hide behind those photos. A lot that can -and maybe should be- shared. Our interactions remain on a superficial level that barely scratches the surface of our deep and complex personalities.
A couple of days back, I was talking to my mother on how we actually spend our lives full of emotions, thoughts, desires, dreams, ideas, beliefs, hopes, fears, opinions, experiences, stories and much more, yet, when we pass away, it all seems to be gone. Nobody knows your story from your perspective other than you. But now you're gone...
My primary aim is to use this blog as a sort of a personal journal, meaning it's mostly meant for my own use but I may keep it open for others. Who knows... maybe I can inspire someone to also begin writing. Personally, I was inspired by two people. For one, by my mom while reading a novel she wrote. It was similar to such a blog format and is definitely one of my favorites. Secondly, by this friend that indirectly introduced me to Blogger.com and thus allowed me to find a platform that makes writing so convenient.
Ever since I was a young teen, especially due to my mom, I knew having a place to note down your thoughts and experiences is very useful. We change a whole lot without realizing as we grow up and with that, we also change the way we think. Over the years we forget a lot of what was once important for us and for that reason, it is helpful to have something to remind you of what used to think and make sure you're on track and don't lose sight of your dreams, for example.
I still have a lot to figure out but I think I'll get the hang of it with time. I'll get better at writing, managing a blog and much more. Hopefully, I'll be able to look back in a few years on a large collection of blog posts I've written!
